“Solo Leveling” Wins Anime of the Year Award! Celebrities Celebrate

On May 25, 2025, the “Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025” was held at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa, Hiten in Tokyo. In this award ceremony, voted by anime fans worldwide, “Solo Leveling” received the highest honor, “Anime of the Year.” The event was attended by numerous celebrities from Japan and abroad, featuring special live performances by Creepy Nuts and LiSA, concluding in great success.

About the Work

“Solo Leveling” is an immensely popular series, with its original novel surpassing 10 million copies in cumulative sales. The dark fantasy story follows protagonist Jinwoo Sung as he grows into “the only person in the world who can level up.” The anime adaptation in 2024 garnered attention for its detailed animation and breathtaking action scenes. Director Shunsuke Nakashige expressed gratitude, stating, “This is thanks to the staff, cast, and all the fans.”

At the awards ceremony, Creepy Nuts performed the opening theme “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” from “Mashle,” while FLOW and LiSA delivered nostalgic hits. In other categories, “Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hashira Training Arc” won both Best Animation and Best Continuing Series awards, and “Attack on Titan” received the Global Impact Award. The newly established Best Isekai Anime Award went to “Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World 3rd Season.” The winners shared behind-the-scenes stories and heartfelt thanks to fans, making it a night filled with the passion of the anime industry.
